1. Busman Boab and his bus of horrors
The first thing I drew that was connected to SINK, basically my audition. I love this fat bastard with his acne and gin blossom nose. The inspiration came from a few teachers I had growing up. Love this guy.
2. The Thing In The Stairs
This was a character I was really trying hard to figure out, it was so well written in the script. Turned into a case of inspiration will happen when you start working.
4. Mr. Dig
John had him all ready to go, the mask the outfit, the shovel. I think the only thing I added was the belt around his chest to hold the shovel, which he never uses. But such a cool looking character, thanks John.
5. Jennifer and Colin
I remember the original design they looked very basic, good looking and nothing interesting. I went back in and tried to give them some character/make them a little ugly. Spread out the eyes, take out the chin. They became a fun couple to draw.
7. The Viking
All of the assassins from issue 8/9 are great but this guy was always just fun to draw. His fur… what do you call it… anyways that was influenced by Kraven the Hunter and the helmet was influenced by Hagar the Horrible.
8. Victor
Love the look of this guy. It came from flipping through an Al Hirschfeld book of mine and working from his illustration of Lee J. Cobb and a few other guys.
