Finally got round to reading TARTARUS #1. A startling debut, buzzing with ideas. The kind of issue where you're never quite sure what kind of story you're in. Currently £2 on Comixology (for fifty pages!) https://t.co/APDu03g25u
With #WicDiv drawing to an end, the TWATD essays are getting longer and more sweeping. Here I am unpacking all the callbacks and echoes of issue #44: https://t.co/cmpu3qPn1P
Like the utter sweetie that he is, @MikeDidymus has emailed me pre-flight 'in case emergency, break seal' tips for these rolly bastards. Take *that*, lack of onboard wi-fi.
In DIE #4, Angela – whose in-game class is the Neo – summons her cybernetic dog.
...@kierongillen, is this a Neopets pun?
Cap’s voice, though, stays distinctive. Steve Rogers is one of very few characters who could deliver this kind of line while looking completely unfazed.
The one dud note in the issue for me was some of the dialogue given to Daredevil and Dr Strange. The glib quippiness is dialled up to Spidey/Iron Man levels – presumably to contrast with the Asgardians, but it means Midgard's heroes don't feel distinct from *one another*.
