Day 3: Wrote a tiny bit more, watched a TON of GDC talks while I started working on my spaceship design, including the start of a 3D model! (Also, HMU if you like writing/editing and you want to read over the early first draft of my demo story outline! I'd love more feedback)
Since this got a little attention, here’s the original continuity sheet I made that I based this painting on! She’s a post-apocalyptic antiheroine and I like her a lot
Some #characterdesign work I did for @LightPusher’s class!! HUGE thanks to Chuck for all the help with this one (also if anyone has name ideas for this character let me know!)
Here are some ship/robot designs from a sci-fi RPG I've been running (although it's currently on hiatus due to school) that I never put on Twitter! The big scary ship is the Riproarer and the other one is the Perilune Crescent
I'm Xan Collins! I'm a full-time Illustration student at PNCA who loves using art to tell stories, particularly ones that intersect with disability, queer identities, and environmental advocacy. Also I like ghosts 👻

Four self-portraits from the last four years! Lots to be learned here: First of all, I've always loved purple. Second, I've had lots of ups and downs over the last several years. Third, my "good angle" has not changed one bit, hahaha
Here's what the map looks like! There are a few errors in it but it was a good exercise. Normal maps use colors to tell the lighting engine what angle the light is hitting any given pixel on a texture so that there's nice looking form shadows without being resource intensive.
MAKING A FAE DATING SIM: a thread. These are tests of how I could apply normal maps to textures to create the illusion of depth! Not something that we're going to use for characters because it's a little uncanny but it has lots of uses for background art! (art by @Electricgale )
