Neev's people evolved from aquatic creatures, and his subspecies specifically is still quite well adapted to living around the water. They can hold their breaths for long periods of time, and they're excellent swimmers :)

Neev was one of 2 born in his "litter," and his 3 younger siblings were all born together. His brother, Asanriq, or "Asa" was born with him. Those two have an extremely strong bond as brothers.

D'urani folk generally have a longer full name and a shorter, "nickname". Ex: Nireevan is his full name, but he goes by Neev.

Xach's childhood best friend and later right-hand/Royal Advisor is Mikael "Mick" Lavelle. (belongs to @definedredeemed )

He was an outgoing and adventurous young boy, but was taught and trained to become a fierce and unyielding leader. His father often said "Love is a luxury weakness that we as rulers cannot afford."
Xach developed into a charming, overly confident ruler who's loved by his people.
