Hatchday is the day that a Paleofolk hatches.
This is the Paleofolk equivalent of birthdays!

Hatchdays were traditionally celebrated with egg themed gifts & candy, but general gifts are more common today. 🎁✨(3/3)

Nest Day is the day that a clutch of eggs were brought into the world. Siblings from the same clutch tend to share the same Nest Day.

On their Nest Day, Paleofolk thank their parents for guarding them as eggs with food baskets or having a huge homecoming feast! 🥗🧡(2/3)

Colour passes!

We needed more pink in our roster, so for this lil' fella, we looked at flamingo & cockatoo patterns for inspiration.

Then in his final design, we incorporated black colouration on his feather tips, nodding to colouration evidence in IRL archaeopteryx! (3/4)

We made her ears smaller & rounder, and shortened her tail to reflect the features of IRL Smilodon even more!
We also experimented with patterns, fur and hair shapes, settling on the short, slicked-back spiky look. We thought this reflected her peppy, energetic attitude the best!

Now for some colour passes!

We chose the writer design in the end, then opted to explore more realistic patterns and warm colours for her.

There’s been lots of great discussion & love for dunk on Twitter lately, so we tweaked her final design to have more accurate soft tissue!
