#pixelart tip:
There's multiple reasons why I organize character sprites the way I do (including OCs). Not only is it corresponding to the franchise, but it also corresponds to the overall style. Keeps me on my toes for color and shading consistency. https://t.co/UiAUpKX1l8

Art Tip:
There's no such thing as bad character design. Doesn't matter if they're complex or simple. All characters have those few details & traits that help define them to be notable amongst all the others (including color scheme). Mind the design overlaps that may happen.
#pixelart tip:
It's worth noting when making game sprites to have a sense of consistency with sizes. Of course, there are some ambiguous cases if the size is important.
My average is about 40 pixels, which sounds pretty small, but can accomplish a lot.
