Virgil "Gus" Grissom would've turned 94 today. He sadly lost his life alongside crewmates Ed White and Roger Chaffee in the Apollo 1 fire in 1967.

#OTD 55 years ago Gus Grissom and John Young completed the world's first crewed orbital maneuver, on Gemini 3. Lasting less than 5hrs this was first of the crewed Gemini missions.
