Some new visuals have been released for the new Digimon movie. The new film will be released in Spring 2020 in celebration of Digimon's 20th anniversary.
Tokyo Solamachi Space 634 is hosting an exhibition of anime director Kunihiko Ikuhara's work April 27 to May 6. The exhibit will include Ikuhara's latest work Sarazanmai, and others such as Revolutionary Girl Utena, Mawaru Penguindrum, and Yurikuma Arashi.
The creator Erika Ando of MAPPA anime studio is one of our guests in 2019. Ando was most recently the Setting Producer on the hit anime BANANA FISH. Ando is also well know for her work on Yuri!!! on ICE as a Production Assistant and Kakegurui as Setting Producer.
Weight lifting web manga Danberu nan kiio moteru?, or How Many Kilos Does that Dumbbell Weigh? is being adapted into an anime for debut this summer in Japan. The story follows a high school who starts to weight lift and becomes a fan of and passionate about the regimen.
Haikyu!! season four was announced this week in Japan. The hit manga was originally serialized in Shonen Jump magazine and saw three seasons of TV anime and a film from our friends at Production I.G. We can't wait to see what Season 4 brings.
This one came out of nowhere. A new Prince of Tennis movie was announced at Shonen Jump's Jump Festa event in Japan. The film will be titled Ryoma! Rebirth The Prince of Tennis: The Movie and will be released in 2020. 2020 can't come fast enough for us!
An upcoming issue of venerable music magazine Rolling Stone will feature hit anime series Zombie Land Saga in Japan. The magazine featuring the zombie idols of the anime will hit Japanese newstands on December 25th.
Today in Japan a special anime for the Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn will be broadcast on television. The story will tell the tale of FF XV character Ardyn before the time of the video game.
Discotek announced that it's bringing some great old anime to Blu-ray. Lupin the Third Series 2 arrives January 29, with Blu-rays of 51 Beyblade episodes and 80s Shin Tetsujin 28. Two Galaxy Express movies follow in February. Good beginning of the year for anime on Blu-Ray fans.
Evangelion is coming to Netflix streaming around the world in 2019. This one surprised us, but we're glad to finally have an easy way to access such a great anime once again.
