Jenny Saville's portraits of women post plastic surgery are some of my favorite portraits ever. Her painterly style gives them a rough edge and maintains a style while still feeling real. The women she paints are emposing and powerful even in moments of weakness.
The brutality and scathing critique of femininity as well as womanhood in the work of Paula Rego is iconic. She is vile with how she depicts her subject matter. It's grimey it's filthy its kinda triggering, but once again her honest reality that she shares is amazing
Félicien Rops is a very erotic and blasphemous artist whose imagery is so fucking raw and so fucking unprovoked. It's amazing any of it even survived. A true pioneer!!
Leonara Carrington is another surrealist from the Mexico City movement that I find to be so brilliant. Her work is so esoteric and has a kind of menacing aura
Everyone on my tl is talking about the duck
But I personally love and will cherish the apple gator 😤💖
Hello, I'm Annie #IAmNonbinary and I've been working on a series in acrylics about my relationship with my body and dysphoria. One of the pieces in this is a wip 💖
