As far as speculative evolution goes, it's one of the best, up there with Dougal Dixon's work, although I personally think it's more believable than Dixon's New Dinosaurs book. And some ideas are just cool, like carrion-eating parrots & Brontosaurus giving birth to live young.
Just gonna say it, Peter Jackson and WETA didn't have to go as hard in-depth as they did in making their version of Skull Island, and I honestly wouldn't mind Jackson making a nature documentary series chronicling the life of his Skull Island.
