Lake of Fire.

2021 work. This one is damning. I saw the original and it had everything I wanted to paint right then and there. I just lacked skill and time to really copy the original in some ways, so the differences might be an accident. I don't feel good about this at all.

2022 work. First I did the study of this incredible painting by Ivan Aivazovsky and later while working on this bit of concept art I remembered the unique way Aivazovsky painted the water, so I took that detail and added it to my work.

2019 work. Inspired by this painting by Thomas Moran. I think I made something transformative here, but the influence is obvious when compared side by side.

Painting without color takes me back to simpler times...
Fewer things can go wrong too.
