I often worry that my writing skills are inadequate to handle a big part of Florent's story. His terminal illness. One day it will claim his life but despite this he just continues to find joy in life. Meeting new people in the hopes of one day calling them friend.
I feel like Florent's Father isn't a wholly 'bad' person. He's an incredibly bigoted, narrow-minded bibliothec that often acts a foil to Florent's adventurous ways, but he does so out of a deep, caring love for his 'frail' son.

While he isn't a Scion or WOL Endwalker really is the perfect expansion for Florent, not only does it feature his homeland it also features the struggle against inevitability. To find joy in life no matter how fleeting it is.

Idk why but I love that Florent comes from the Oirellain family. An august family of Sharlayan Bibliothecs who claim to have ties back to Nyunkrepf's Ark. They're haughty and hoard knowledge.
