" Why's Velma so short?"
1.) Dwarfism is indeed a real life thing!
2.) This is an insane overexaggeration of the style, born out of wanting to explore new dynamics.
3.) She's friggin' EDNA MODE now & that is NOT a bad thing!
4.) This changes NOTHING for her, strength-wise.
Figuring out Velma's design first helped make designing everyone else SO much smoother-sailing. Something that represented the modern depth of Mystery Incorporated & the stylized fun of the classics. Bold, but still guirky. Everyone else's looks fell into place afterwards.
Beyond learning further into horror, the main goal of this concept would be to really delve into the realism of their friendship. Making it feel like a real group of teens who genuinely just love hanging around eachother even if they have no idea what theyre doing.
After binging Mystery Inc. on Netflix & remembering the new movie coming soon, I finally cracked & designed my own take on a #Scoobydoo series as a fun breather between projects! A Comedy/Horror about a band of teen weirdos seeing the world & facing modern horrors & myths!
SURPRISE!! Youre opinions helped fuel my reasearch for a tiny #ScoobyDoo redesign thingy I've been wanting to do! Thank yall for sharing 👍
I felt like starting off with Velma! Nine designs were cycled through as I thought about the kind of SD series I would wanna make. https://t.co/b79GYiwQdK
tfw you go in to watch some trolls sing abunch o' songs to goregous animation & character/environmental design & then they hit u with a message about racism & revisionist history...
