that's how im related or ig projected on Shinji and Kaworu relationship it wasn't simply because he's gay (or bi) but for the first time someone acknowledge him, care about him not judging who he is
the affection that he received just felt so nice maybe he wasn't alone after all

How i interpret relationship between Shinji and Kaworu in original series as first.

it was my second year in high school (vocational college) my close friend there probably quit school because of misunderstanding I cause, the other friend just distant themself, basic I was alone

It’s pretty fun tho even if they act like typical sports anime (shouting special move name and such lmao) but not in annoying way
Also the setting kinda interesting and well I actually know a bit about golf so it’s cool to see golf as anime
