i know im gonna get crucified for this take but in short apex diablos, mizutsune and rathalos >>>>>> bloodbath, soulseer and dreadking
i love these two so much, design wise i think they could've been done a bit better but fight wise their the best leviathans when it comes to land fights, and yeah i'm just gonna say it magmudron >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> agnaktor.
shara is another very good example of this, it goes from a basic rock golem monster to a buddhist tree demon dragon
dunno about you but im a real sucker for monster designs that normaly looks kinda bland and uninteresting at first glance but become radically different/weird once they once they show their "true colors", it's something i like to call the "surprise factor".
its weird that tigrex despite being a very basal member of the wyvern family lacks the overlaping shells/plates that its other "close" relatives have, and then you have barioth which comes from a derived group has them while his "close" relatives lacks them.
for a sec it thought it was actually spotify https://t.co/TIQNXrpDtg
not to say that all subspecies are like this, there are a few exception of course, rare species yeah there all just recolors.
i find it funny that variants are more physicaly distinct to their base species compared to both sub/rare species which are just recolors, it realy should be the other way around with subs/rare species being more physicaly distinct due to them taking a different evolutionary path
