In his lifetime, Rackham illustrated more than 60 books, ranging from Grimm's Fairy Tales to Shakespeare, Dickens, Milton, and Edgar Allan Poe.

This Jan Weenix is not to be confused with the artist who taught him—his father, Jan Baptist Weenix (d. October 6, 1663). 🎨

In 1873, he became a professor at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts.

September 9, 1901: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the premier poster artist of Paris, dies at only 36-years of age.
Sadly, the end of the artist's short life was rather tragic. As well as living with a deformity, he ailed greatly and suffered from alcoholism.

Evelyn was a follower of Pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne-Jones, and her style is very reminiscent of his.
