When I was playing with these, I knew I wanted to let the image have high contrast but let the skin be very minimal. It let me add a bit more interest in the face.

I started this project earlier in the year as a way to practice faces. It's been fun to practice in a way that's a little different from my usual style.

I've included the original image. I still enjoy the design, and I remember really working hard to get the face, expressions, and braids right. It was fun to come back to her and flesh her out a bit.
