Hermes, the messenger of the Gods, associated with roads and boundaries could cross the boundary btw the world of the living and dead.
As Psychopompós, escorts the souls of the dead to the realm of Hades & Persephone.

@ivana_evans @URDailyHistory I'm afraid this is another naval battle. Άρης was fallen after the famous exodus of the Battle of Sphacteria (1825). It stood alone, circled of enemy ships but managed to destroy 7 of them before they could destroy it.
