Clothes were only temporary because they decided to overextend Ash Jorneys

May was supposed to have 3 looks like Serena had but she couldn't appear because of Kaori's situation
May was supposed to have her ORAS outfits in XYeXYZ
It's just a matter of respect for Kaori's work

after rewatching a few series I like the few times they wrote Ash's special trainings much more with Pokemon

the jacket he wears is the least dynamic
