More trips down memory lane, this time some concept work I directed for a WWZ game idea I was working on. I am a massive fan of the novel by @maxbrooksauthor amazing art from my atomhawk Co-founders @petethompsonart and Corlen Kruger
Way back in 2008 I had an idea to reboot the classic 80's arcade game "RAMPAGE" and I worked with Corlen Kruger to create a piece of key art for the pitch deck. We were going to make it in UE3 with fully destructible environments.
Many years ago I had an idea for a Wipeout meets Burnout style cyberpunk racing game with vehicle to vehicle combat code named "Neo Racer" we did some art......might have been cool?
When you are art directing, sometime the only way to explain the idea is to pose as a model for artists..... and then let them fill your mouth with tentacles :)
Following up on my last post showing concept art from the John Carpenter's THE THING games I art directed, here are some more concepts for various Thing creatures.
This morning @asianastroboy introduced me to AI based art tool @Artbreeder Fascinating, not only as an artist myself but also from a business disruptor perspective. I was able to generate alternate faces for a piece of character concept art and also a landscape in minutes!
5 years ago I realised that becoming a CEO had taken me far from my original craft. Not making any art for several years made me miserable. I vowed to ignore my fear of being rubbish and do this image. I haven't looked back since. It is never too late!
@PencilMoose @slimyswampghost A few more bits, not sure I ever showed you these
@gfan2016 Dead space was 7 years after the last THING game so yes, almost definitely. These concepts are from 2001
Many years ago, I pitched an idea for a WWZ video game that was going to be my return to the Horror genre after JC's The THING (Great work by artists @petethompsonart, Corlen Kruger)
