mr enter’s kind of a Thing right now so I just wanted to remind everyone that he said he doesn’t usually review anime because he saw this character design and this scene and decided an entire country’s media was just too weird for him
I can’t find out what this is but oh no look! he’s gone full shonen! oh the humanity!
our first offshoot kitaro brings us to the opposite end of the spectrum. hakaba is a creepy little kid, with the lumpiest head, blank, dead eyes, stringy hair, and buck teeth so big so they barely fit in his mouth. he’s a lovably spooky lil fella, and makes an adorable baby.
if you like your kitaros active and heroic, you can’t go wrong with 80s kitaro. this is probably the most high energy one to date, with the most dynamic fight scenes an 80s toei budget can get. he’s a bit “prettified” (no more buck teeth) but I like his lumpy face and fluffy hair
this isn’t quite as immediately scary as a demon guy but it’s scary in its own way!
