@Zhane_Star I agree but I think that's in big part Sega's fault, specially for the way they portrayed Rouge in some games like Sonic Generations.

But I love they way Ian and Evan write Rouge in the Sonic comics, she's way more multi-layered and isn't stuck with Shadow all the time.

I think they added the blush here as well to tone down the impact of Blaze blushing when seeing Sonic, the IDW editors tone down strong signs of affection:

@AngelStarWolfy Amy is also blushing but she's in bright daylight, Blaze is surrounded in darkness but even then the artist wanted to make clear she's blushing, there is literally no other explanation of what those marks on her cheeks might be other than the good old blush.
