500 years ago TODAY (Julian Calendar), the decisive conflict of Aztec-Spanish, the Battle of Otumba.
It's won by Spaniards because they made a specific effort to kill the Aztec commander (seen in the images). In the rules of Mesoamerican combat, it essentially ends the battle.
