Just after Gordon Banks became Tiger Sports Star of the Year, I asked him if he'd appear in a Roy of the Rover story. He agreed and this is the result. Roy was playing for an all-star team against Melchester...and Gordon had to face a penalty! Great art by Yvonne Hutton.
Big prizes we had on offer in Roy of the Rovers. All that Gola equipment to be won. Sorry, folks, the closing date was 14th September, 1981! 😬
Roy cover featuring the Kid from Argentina. This story I introduced into Roy lasted a couple of years...
@PaulRob07936659 @GotNotGot This was my favourite Melchester strip. Of course, I'm biased! It's the red and yellow that folk remember most!
Lots of muscles on view as Johnny Cougar prepares to take on the Masked Avenger. Sandy James artwork. David Vandeput balloon lettering and my script.
A reminder to the selectors: Billy Dane is still available for England!
Wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year! Here's a Tiger cover from 1983. We certainly didn't go overboard with the New Year theme! Lovely John Gillatt artwork!
Big Daddy with a big cracker! A powerful Christmas cover we did in 1981!
Here’s a Sonic the Hedgehog strip I wrote for a series in the News of the World. Art by the very excellent Richard Elson.
@BradYNWA6 Thanks. A script I enjoyed writing. All about Johnny Dexter until Viktor Boskovic came out of my typewriter. Then he took over!
