I found another great picture of Billy Dane and Dead-Shot Keen, by artist John Gillatt. It gave us a special page in Tiger. Tiger was a bit special anyway...
Lots of response when I posted a Tiger Billy's Boots cover the other day. Here's a brilliant piece of artwork by John Gillatt, showing Billy Dane and Dead-Shot Keen together.
Editing the story was a real pleasure!
@shortswereshort Dramatic stuff! A real captain's performance from my mate Johnny Dexter. Just imagine what would have happened if he had failed to save it!
A traditional Tiger Christmas cover, starring Johnny Cougar, from 1970 and a Big Daddy cover from 1981. Ho, ho, ho!
@IndiaWilloughby Are you by any chance referring to me, the great Viktor Boskovic? I was the genius in The Hard Man story, written by @BarrieEditor1 in Roy of the Rovers comic. I faint with horror that you could forget my name. But I like being called a tactical genius. Very true!
@KingMikeMusic Thanks for asking about Scorer. Here's the final instalment, after 22 years in the Daily Mirror!
Forty-four years ago this month, Roy married Penny. A guard of honour from the Melchester players. Of course, Blackie Gray was Best Man. I was delighted to organise this happy day for Roy and Penny.
Hot-Shot Hamish, Roy Race, Billy Dane, Johnny Cougar and Skid Solo. Just happens to be the cover for my book 'Comic Book Hero' #WallpaperWednesday
A final Christmas pic. It's a Roy cover from 1985. Roy's wearing the Santa beard, with @realmartinkemp and @SteveNormanReal just behind him. Penny is in the foreground, with Emlyn Hughes and Bob Wilson behind her.
You'll also spot some other Melchester players. Happy Christmas!
