I like the way this added to Goku and Piccolo’s rivalry in the Saiyan Saga.

In the same arc they reveal Goku was sent to Earth to destroy it (pre-minus of course), Piccolo was sent to be saved from Destruction.

Here’s an example that I can never escape,

Ive seen in the past people saying “oh you like Goku so you have to like Superman too!”

That’s not how it works.

There’s enough differences between them for one to like Goku more, or vice versa.
