Ref'd art will NEVER align with your art even if ur trying to make a 1:1 copy. To prove it, my very first drawing of Stolas HEAVILY ref'd these 2 pics. Noticed how there's still a lot of "ghosting" of the ref'd image. It's cuz I DREW IT MYSELF, AND the gesture was changed

Here are all their 2022 Christmas designs that they had to change after Destiny very nicely told them looked traced. They claimed they just "heavily referenced" the official art. Someone suggested that their redraw was partially traced from bases online

This Nuggs has been traced from Pinamel's Nuggs pin, and they monetized it in multiple ways. The third image is an overlay of the original art to show it's traced. Notice how the 4th image of Nuggs doesn't even the composition or Angel's pose.
