When a long-distance friend of mine was grieving for two beloved pups, I found a photo she had taken and got to work. Art can help us shoulder each other’s burdens and cherish the things we love. #ArtAdventCalendar
A friend of mine moved to Canada from Ireland, but dearly missed her sister back home. She sent me some photos and I created this portrait for her as a gift. As I paint, I feel like I'm sharing in the warmth and the bond between the giver and recipient. #ArtAdventCalendar

Good morning! #ArtAdventCalendar again today? Oh, lovely! I painted this portrait of a dear friend in the Art Nouveau style, using botanical imagery like sage and iris at her request to represent healing and creativity.
@SteveRickettsSP Thank you! I was inspired by the pointillism of photocollages, and created a portrait of my son in a similar way.
@GyanYankovich SO PRECIOUS. He reminds me of another furry literary critter: Dogger was introduced to us in Shirley Hughes' lovely books, and my sister took extremely good care of her own plush version.
