This week’s Treasure concludes our look at bird illustrations from our Fine Book Room. We show the cover of A Monograph of the Cranes by Frans Ernest Blaauw and an illustration of the Balearic crane. The illustrations were based on the cranes in Amsterdam zoo #connectwithheritage

Our December Treasures on the theme of Christmas start with a copy of The Chimes, by Charles Dickens. It is beautifully illustrated by Coleraine artist, Hugh Thomson and is available to view in our Christmas display on the second floor #connectwithheritage

This week’s Treasure features another Christmas print from the Cuala Press. ‘A Cradle song’ was written by Padraic Colum and the illustration is by Beatrice Elvery #connectwithheritage
