Just wrapped up my Gargoyles rewatch and I’m FULLY back on my bullshit 😎✨

Precursor missions like Perseverance are absolutely vital to both the continued exploration of Mars AND to figuring out how to one day send a crew there in person! It's a long slow process with lots of ground to cover, and I'm thrilled to be taking another step this afternoon.

Moment of appreciation for Mars Rover Sky Cranes, which fully rule.

Perseverance will also land on Mars in a way that's VERY close to how Curiosity did way back in 2012, as illustrated here by the excellent @WyethYates

Perseverance (aka The 2020 Rover) actually had a cameo in "The Mars Challenge"! One its many experiments, called "MOXIE," will hopefully demonstrate how we could generate oxygen for a crewed Mars mission using the planet's air.
