Had him and Keiichiro felt like Lettuce was a good candidate? Because in the original anime no-one knew who the teammates were

But what about Lettuce? She never interact with them
At least Tokyo Mew Mew New fixed this plot hole by having the transformation happen without the pendant's help if any of the girls' emotions run high
