I feel like BOTH versions did a good job explaining why Zakuro rejected the team initial invitation but NEW actually developed that idea with having Zakuro asking Ichigo why they’ve accepted this new life.

From her reaction she was really shocked with Ichigo a stranger, calling her a friend, nakama, companion etc
This was enough for her to realize that this weird folks really do care about protecting peace.
