If you just want a less holdable look in the design I should remind everyone that I drew this character like this.
Cute doesn't mean it cannot be scary. It's all about framing, details, and presentation. Cute designs aren't bad for horror. They just require more work.
@KennyUndrX Do people really need to go out of their way to make exes more scary to other people?
I've made one or two "cute exes" look pretty fucking creepy and people loved that work.
If people really want pointers I'm willing to give my unbiased thoughts. (1/2)
I saw some talk today about people wondering where horror and gore artists get their references for gore and stuff. If you want some of my recommendations, here are some books that I referenced a lot as a kid and sometimes do as an adult.
Hope this helps somebody.
@GraftsNotHere I don't draw "gore porn" which I think the proper turn is Yuri/Goreo(?) could be wrong on that.
But the books I use for reference are these for whenever I needed references for gore.
I'm just a horror artist that sometimes needs to draw bones or something lol
@BetaEtaDelota Here are some of my personal favorites I've done. Two traditional and two digital. I would show off some memes but I lost them a long while ago.
I love how everyone knows that I just love doing horror art and playing videogames, and forget that I also designed this my first year on Twitter.
@UpTaunt Here's my traditional character studies. Haven't done any new ones in awhile
