So Jay and Cheri’s entire dynamic is that it’s a cowboy x pop star, and when they have a kid, the kid is neither.

Now that I think about it, it doesn’t really make sense for Cheri to visibly age a ton while Jay doesn’t visibly age at all...

Fun fact: I was actually gonna give Jay a smaller red spot on his head to sort of convey a receding hairline, but I dropped the idea because I thought it was dumb.
That’s also why Cheri shows more signs of aging with her taller height and longer fangs while Jay has little to none
