The designs are mainly what I hear about with this game (yes, I own it and it still works.) A lot of games have character designers tied to the anime industry or are really great freelance artists. You can definitely see Kondo's artstyle similarities and talent shine here.

Not too sure how many people have heard of Jade Cocoon: Story of Tamamayu (1998) but it was a collaboration between Genki and Katsuya Kondo, who did character designs for Studio Ghibli (Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo, From Up on Poppy Hill.)

The show is called Hai Step Jun and it came out back in 1985. Also, Jun is 4'7" but she's drawn smaller than like, Chibiusa in Sailor Moon SuperS (who apparently is 4'5".) Jun's height according to the Wiki also changed to 140 cm, so she ends up being/near Chibiusa's height. 😅
