In fact, the manga is actually more tame, than the anime. It's the ANIME, that went the lewd route!

It was a show, that always talked about how we should celebrate our similarities, rather than our differences.

It taught lessons, that ANY family, regardless of race, creed, or background, can learn about how to be better people. Especially for kids.

The original Proud Family, was a show all about love, morals & respect. It showcased that black families are just like every other family, just from a black perspective. And yes, while they did tackle issues unique to the black community, it never went preached intolerance.
