I generally love books voiced by biased main characters who twist and deform the narrative to fit them or their character—i.e unreliable narrators.

My current WIP is a coming of age with a pair of broken people—wrapped in anxiety, suicidal thoughts and warped sense of self.

Such series talking about modern issues, giving voice to young people—mostly targeting people in highschool or university.

Then most of these readers grew older and you see most modern LNs are targeting gamers with stories featuring JRPG mechanics for fantasy.

First, juvenile is the word used for work fiction targeting children and YA. (ジュブナイル)
Or that's before 21st century.
Now, as they became more conscious of the existence of YA, things started to change a bit.

Like how the famous Haruhi series got rebranded to fit YA feel
