I think we got pretty great designs in the end.
But I do wonder how the fight (and maybe even the story?) would have changed, if the soul fight looked even more different than the second form.
Some of these designs are really worlds apart from each other.

So his first phase design was probably set at that time.
Aside from the colors (which are Magolors original colors), he looks just like the first boss phase Magolor.
