One of my favourite pieces of artwork of the tremendously strong & equally wicked Laure Voss from @misterkristoff's "Empire Of The Vampire".
I don't recall having ever read of such a frighteningly tough as nails female vampire who actually kicked the mc's ass.
LOVED her chapters.
In Greek tradition & folklore, kalikantzaroi are little demons deep in the Earth's underground, trying to cut the tree that holds it together.
It is believed they ascend on the surface from Christmas' Eve to Theofania Day when they return to the underground.

@NetflixGeeked Yennefer is great but my girl Sypha is basically a force of nature!
Trees were said & feared to be magic as their life outlasts ours. Similarly literary/cinematic trees' role is polarized: ethearal or deadly.
From C.S Lewis' wooden portal to Narnia & Tolkien's wise Treebeard to Burton's Tree of the Dead which is Gateway to Hell.

"I've been chained and betrayed. Raped and defiled.
Do you know what kept me standing through all those years in exile? Faith.
Not in any gods, not in myhts and legends. In myself.
In Daenerys Targaryen."

"The green one shall be Rhaegal, for my valiant brother who died on the green banks of the Trident."

~Love is the death of duty. Duty is the death of love.
But, what if the path to the broken wheel lies in duty and love melting together to birth a dynasty, initiated by the 7 Kingdoms in a history hallmark, ruled by a just woman and an honorable man?~

"The girl", the king said. "Daenerys. Let her live. If you can, if it is not too late...talk to them...Varys, Littlefinger...don't let them kill her."
