Toby: He used to work somewhere near the Mid Sodor Railway but then his line closed down and he was bought by Sir Topham Hatt after he visited his line, he now works on The Ffarquhar Line with Oliver, Percy and then later Daisy and Mavis.

Edward: Edward arrived on sodor to be the NWR's No. 2 Express Engine but retired from express service after No.3 Henry arrived then No. 4 Shooting Star. He now works on the Wellsworth Branch pulling his three faithful old coaches.
