What 4 books define your taste in comics?

My four: Hellboy, Doom Patrol, The Metabarons, Immortal Hulk.

I love monsters, tragic heroes, imaginative weird characters, layered narratives, and operatic odysseys. https://t.co/9AyqoSgNDl

Yes! He clearly repurposed the Brainiac idea for Mars Attacks! later on

Publishers need to not cheap out on great cover art. Especially with horror content for a younger audience, kids like the overtly creepy and gross. Don’t worry kids can handle it and they’ll thank you by continuing as a costumer. I did and many more will do too.

Growing up in the 90’s Tim Jacobus painted covers for R.L. Stein’s Goosebumps books were everything to me. I can’t stress enough how important they were in starting me on my lifelong love of art, horror, and reading. Publishers need to realize that a great cover WILL sell a book!

Thinking of Stephen Gammell and how lucky we were to have his art in our children’s horror stories. Gateway horror is so important and needs to return to having bite again!

Tim Burton’s artwork for the Martians in Mars Attacks! always puts a smile on my face.

It’s a shame the studio only ever used a tiny fraction of Giger’s designs. It goes without saying that these designs, and H.R. Giger’s work as a whole, is one of my biggest artistic influences and inspiration. 2/2

I’m looking forward to this and I hope it’s schlock. Artistic schlock mind you but schlock nonetheless.

The Masters of Horror series had such a great proposal behind it: gather the Old Guard of horror cinema and let them make a tv movie. Genius. Season 1 was undoubtedly the best.

There’s plenty of long forgotten and lost movies from the heyday of direct to video releases but one of my new current favorites is Eyes of Fire. This period piece horror film is full of surreal imagery, a tale of Americana during settlers era folk horror. A must watch.
