@JetpackBraggin Gotta love how 80% of Mario merch from back then is just different tracings of this artwork.
@Lockstin @pokemondb I said unique. Both of those games have hundreds of identical recolors of creatures. Who I might add, have a very limited range of attacks compared to any given Pokémon. Every Pokémon has walking animations, and will have new unique celebratory animations for beating Gyms, too.
Honestly, I've never been a fan of Red's old clothes, the red and white is very overpowering, the hat is plain, shirt and pants tucked in like a nerd. And the vest on his Masters look is so puffy and awkwardly huge. I'd rank his designs:
1. FRLG
2. Alola
3. Original
5. Masters
Y'know, Sugimori really has a throbbing boner for Red's old design lately, doesn't he? Even when he's tasked with a redesign, it's still most similar to the old look.
I look most forward to seeing these guys in Pokémon Masters just so we can see what the fuck their official names are (Elio & Soleil vs Sun & Moon and Silver's never had a canon name in the games).
@psychoDon525 Probably true, yeah. I'd also like them to ACTUALLY update all the models/animations. I get why they're recycled from X/Y but I'd like improved postures and such. Some of the ones we have are really stale and lifeless.
Welp. Assumed I'd be waiting until XI comes to Switch to dive into the series, but this was on sale on the 3DS eShop. Guess that's what I'm doing now.
