Exaggerating, obviously, but I do genuinely think it's my least favorite visual style of all Dragon Quest media I've see . The new anime really facelifted it for the better.
I always wondered why Tipper looks like a dwarf in the remake, turns out he had a completely different design back then
@JDMeagher @WolfeyGlick This is exactly why it doesn't make me mad or anything. Like, what did you expect a fourth one of these abominations to look like, Beyoncé? It'd be more disturbing if the chain was broken and suddenly one of them looked good
Back to comics, we got this retcon for Jason's look. And I really, really like it. It's a bit busy (weird rings on the forearms and legs), but the yellow cape, red mask, fully-green legs all really do it for me. Best one so far.
And then, Jason's pre-Crisis suit. It's honestly pretty solid. I miss the R, and don't love the neck thing, but the waist-down elements definitely influenced Tim Drake's first costume because they just work.
It's bizarre that DC's solution to having a recent generation of legacy characters becoming largely ignored in favor of their predecessors, is to introduce yet another generation of legacy characters.
This issue is just nonstop poster-worthy shots. What the fuck. Why do we not have a Titans book with this team (plus Roy)?
