@chaomix I think the best way to go about this would be to compare the former style with more recent 2D illustrations by the same artist. Personally I feel it's more of a gradual refinement of the same style, rather than a deliberate redesign.
I’ve finally finished all of Dragon Ball Z Kai, an entire 12 years after starting it. This series, along with the original manga, played a huge role in getting me into Dragon Ball as a young teenager, and just now seeing its final episodes after all this time is so surreal.
