@GerryAndersonTV For sheer exotic weirdness, Guardian of Piri; for the sting in the tail alone, Earthbound; and for the best ending the series never had, The Testament of Arkadia.
Great stuff to watch on 1 April 40 years ago, with Sheila Steafel reading Jackanory, more Morph magic on Take Hart, and episode two of The Bagthorpe Saga by Helen "Lizzie Dripping" Cresswell. #TVTardis @RadioTimes
Happy birthday to the legendary Alan Hawkshaw, composer of some our most recognisable TV themes. I love that he wrote one of my favourites: On the Move, which was sung by The Dooleys. https://t.co/yOl6PrbpcQ Check out his website: https://t.co/WdKakfGVSv
"Altogether the programme will be both noisy and funny." So said @RadioTimes of The Banana Splits when it began #OTD in 1970. But which of the hosts was your favourite?
@archivetvmus71 Yes I had that too. I always found it weird that they didn't acknowledge Space: 1999 at all...
The wonderful @aardman children's series, The Amazing Adventures of Morph, began #OTD in 1980. Starring the great #TonyHart, it featured Morph, best friend Chas, Delilah and GrandMorph, and inspired many kids to become animators. @PeteLordAardman @SproxtonAardman
Not just for the holidays: Years before Why Don't You? began on television, this Puffin book was published. Anyone else remember it?
