Today’s #FolkloreThursday is all about Seas And Rivers! In English folklore, hags like Peg Powler, Jenny Greenteeth and Nelly Longarms haunt ponds, streams and rivers, catching and eating any children who stray too close to the water’s edge.
Thank god someone made the #DarkArts tag because I was feeling very left out of the VibrantArts thing.
Today’s #FolkloreThursday prompt is all about the heavens! I decided to paint a harpy, everyone’s favourite feathered personification of storm winds. They range in description from pretty maidens to ugly monsters, and they lived in either the Strofades, Crete or the Underworld.
I saw this trend going around so I guess I’ll do it too

Today’s #FolkloreThursday prompt is folktales and fairy stories! I decided to go with The Snow Queen, which is one I’ve always really liked the idea of. Don’t drop troll mirrors from high altitudes kids, or this could happen to you.
Maleficent is trash, but it's MY trash, and we do not talk about the sequel which is very much not my trash. https://t.co/nVSrlnqt8R

@artbysamwhite @digitalsurreal I’ll throw my hat into the ring as well! I’m Brendan, I’m a student and fantasy illustrator for Ireland. I draw a lot of fairies and fantasy characters!
Today’s #FolkloreThursday is all about ice and snow! The Hag of Beara was said to bring winter to Ireland. She is associated with various rocks on the coast, usually believed to be her petrified form, staring out to sea forever.
