I'm hyperfixated on DC Comics and Dragon Quest. He/him, bi, poly. Probably on the spectrum. Aggressively introverted.

More cut monsters: Boring Bug -> two unused bugs. The eyes and scythelike hands make me think they were a trio. I do also see a mild resemblance to the Scissor Beatle.

Another very clear example. Although there's so many variants, it's hard to say some are direct "upgrades" over others, but they're definitely related. I think Killing Machine -> Overkilling Machine -> Trauminator -> Saggittar have a clear hierarchy, though.

Another clear example is Khalamari Kid -> King Squid -> Khalamari. The first and last in this chain both originated in VIII, and have a shared name for a reason. Khalamari very clearly takes inspiration from King Squid, so I think it makes sense to consider it a "middle stage".

The iconic Chimaera has an "evolution" of its own: the Dreamaera.

Most obvious example being the Great Sabrecub and Great Sabrecat. They're treated as different species, but are canonically just at different stages in their lives. The same goes for the Sanguinis and Bloody Manguini, as I've shared before.

Rereading Blackest Night and I'm being hit with so much nostalgia. This was one of the first comics my brother and I bought the day it came out, and we were so excited to read it, we sat down and read it together because we didn't want to wait for the other to finish it first.

It feels like a sin to have any Justice Society media and not have both of these two in it. As much as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are staples of the Justice League, Jay and Alan are the pillars of the Justice Society. WHY WOULD YOU NOT HAVE BOTH AHHHHHHHHH

Well, we're 2/2 with excellent movies in this new line. Really eager to see their takes on other characters, they're so good at making them likeable and showcasing their powers in really exciting ways

Notice how they slowly get redder as they age? It's due to consuming so much blood. The name also has numerous meanings that all allude to its friendly/vicious dual-nature! What a clever concept. 2/2
