see, regular sonic actually looks like a nice guy...
while this mf would most likely punch someone in the face, make them graze their teeth on the gutter, and then skateboard away flipping the bird and cackling like a lunatic

had a weird thought, what if the crash series had vocal themes like sonic usually does?

what bands/musicians would fit best for the series? what genres would be played around with? who would be considered the crush 40 of crash bandicoot?

now why did i conduct this experiment in the first place?

sonic, despite having clear roots in western cartoons like mickey mouse and felix the cat from the very beginning, has been depicted in a realistic setting a fair few times.

hell, i'd even say the "meta era" (ewww i hate that term) has better design consistency. sure, they may have been more underwhelming or lacklustre in terms of writing, but at least it looks like it came from the same series somewhat, y'know?

don't get me wrong tho, there are some good ones... there's just more of them i care less about design-wise

which really tells ya how downhill sonic was going at that stage compared to his classic or adventure days

listing all of the sonic characters in chronological order for funsies made me realise just how draining it gets when reaching the "dark age" set of characters

half of them are just final fantasy-looking mfs, where the stylised bird boarders or sleepytime guardians at?
