It's not like they can't do a more stylistic approach in 3D either. Mystery Dungeon did it. The filters in Super Mario Odyssey too.

@armormodechang What kind of argument is "they are all little girls" anyway? There's a Yamanba in the series. The entire point of a Yamanba is that they appear as old ladies.

@chiaknight_64 It reminds me more of Kirby's Dream Land 3's design.

Kirby's Dream Land 3 had the rotund shape and the more penguin-like beak, but it also had round circular eyes that didn't peek from under the crown, yellow gloves, and the beak was wide. It lacks a neck too.
