The original Eastman/Laird run (I think it’s just called Volume One) from 1984-1993 is what I love because it’s that perfect blend of everything that an 80s independent comic should be. Admittedly, as much as I love the wild and wacky mind of Alejandro Jodorowsky, it could have also been the most expensive 10-14 hour disaster in film history. We’ll never really know but we can gawk at the gorgeous art by H.R. Giger, Chris Foss and Moebius himself—Jean Giraud.
